Apple Pay expands to four more European countries
Apple's mobile payment system, Apple Pay, is now available in Portugal, Slovakia, Greece, and Romania, bringing the service to millions of new users across Europe.
According to local reports, Apple Pay launched in the four countries on Wednesday, June 26, with support from various banks and financial institutions. In Portugal, users can add cards from CrÃdito AgrÃcola, Monese, N26, and Revolut. In Slovakia, the supported banks include Boon, Edenred, J&T Banka, Monese, N26, Revolut, Slovenska sporitelna, Tatra banka, mBank, and Ticket Restaurant. In Greece, users can choose from Monese, N26, and Revolut. In Romania, the options are Banca Transilvania, Edenred, Monese, N26, Orange Money, and Revolut.
Apple Pay allows iPhone and Apple Watch users to make secure and convenient payments for goods and services in retail stores using an NFC chip built into their devices. The service also works for online purchases and in-app transactions. Users can authenticate their payments with Face ID or Touch ID.
Apple Pay first launched in the United States in October 2014 and has since expanded to over 40 countries and regions around the world. The service has been gradually rolling out across Europe and the Middle East in the last year, with launches in Poland, Norway, Kazakhstan, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, Austria, and Iceland.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said in March that Apple Pay would be available in more than 40 countries and regions by the end of 2019. The company's website has a full list of Apple Pay countries and regions.

Apple Pay offers several benefits to users, such as security, convenience, and privacy. The service uses a unique device account number and a one-time security code to process each transaction, without revealing the user's card number or identity to the merchant. The user's card details are also not stored on the device or on Apple's servers. Apple Pay also works with Face ID and Touch ID, making it easy and fast to authenticate payments with a glance or a touch.
Another benefit of Apple Pay is that it works with Apple Cash and Apple Card, two services that are integrated with the Wallet app. Apple Cash allows users to send and receive money through iMessage, while Apple Card is a credit card that offers daily cash back, no fees, and various tools to manage spending. Both services can be used with Apple Pay for online and in-store purchases.
Apple Pay is also compatible with various apps and websites that support the service. Users can pay for their orders with Apple Pay without having to create an account or fill out forms. Apple Pay also works with Safari, allowing users to check out quickly and securely on any website that accepts the service.
Apple Pay is constantly adding new features and partners to enhance the user experience. For example, users can now pay for public transit with Apple Pay in some cities, such as New York, London, and Tokyo. Users can also add loyalty cards, gift cards, coupons, and tickets to their Wallet app and use them with Apple Pay. Furthermore, users can make donations to their favorite charities and causes with Apple Pay.
Apple Pay is a convenient and secure way to pay for anything, anywhere. With Apple Pay, users can enjoy the benefits of using their iPhone and Apple Watch as their wallet. aa16f39245
